Paul Tu


Paul TuPrincipal

Paul Tu has over 18 years of experience in operating and managing businesses, and investing in and financing high-technology companies. Prior to joining MTDC in 1999, Paul served as Vice President, Commercial Lending Division, of Eastern Bank from 1998 to 1999. Before this, he was an Assistant Vice President in the Business Banking Group at Fleet Bank (now Bank of America) from 1993 to 1998. Before entering the banking industry, Paul spent a year as an entrepreneur establishing a new retail jewelry store. He also worked as a management trainee in two different retail establishments for several years.

As a Principal, Paul is responsible for reviewing business plans, interviewing entrepreneurs, identifying marketable technologies, and making new and follow-on equity investments.  Currently, Paul serves as a member of the Board of Directors of Ntirety, Inc. and uTest, Inc., and as a Board Observer of Courion, Inc., PermissionTV, Inc. and Polatis, Inc.

Paul presently serves as a Director of Merrimack Valley Venture Forum. He is a former Chairman of OCEAN (Overseas Chinese Entrepreneur Association) Capital Club, a former Director of the Smaller Business Association of New England (SBANE), and has chaired several of their subcommittees. Paul is also a former Director and Auditor of CCBA (Chinese Consolidated Benevolent Association). Paul earned an MBA from Suffolk University and a BA from Boston University.
